NaNoWriMo, Works in Progress & Completed Books Looking for a Home

NaNoWriMo is over. I wrote just over 14,000 words in my latest contemporary romance. I am continuing with it through December to see how much closer to 50,000 I can get.

Below are my other works in progress.

Amelia’s Mission – Middle Grade Fiction

I have completed twenty-three chapters in this middle grade novel about an orphan girl sent to live with her unmarried aunt, who ends up uncovering a secret in the aunt’s past. Set during the Reconstruction Era, Amelia’s friendship with the family’s Black stableman is frowned upon. When she disobeys Aunt Martha one time too many, she is sent off to Elms Academy, a private seminary for girls.

The following completed books are searching for a home:

A New Home (chapter book) – Romeo, Juliet, and Peter are three abandoned kittens searching for a new home.

Crabby Cathy (picture book) – Cathy is a mean girl who shoves people around in the schoolyard and takes things that aren’t hers. But when Amy and Chloe decide to befriend this bully, they see a side to Cathy they didn’t know existed.

Everybody’s Home for Christmas (chapter book) – Rachel is sad that her military father isn’t around for Christmas like the other dads. With some encouragement from her mom, she spends the days putting together a care package to send to him in Afghanistan, and before she goes to bed each night she prays for his safe return. Will Rachel experience a Christmas miracle?

The Real Cinderella Story (picture book) – A sarcastic story of Cinderella told by one of her sisters.

This novel is under consideration for representation.

Home for the Heart – Chloe Bennett returns to the small town of Cedarville to sell her childhood home, but when a Christmas fire finds her opening her doors to the community—and her former high school sweetheart—she must decide between the life she built in Boston and the love she left behind.

Inventory Update & NaNoWriMo Progess

Here is me smiling as I pack up a box of books that sold last weekend. Sold seven books, which means, sadly, Little Shepherd is now out of print. Inventory levels have been updated on PayPal. I truly miss Guardian Angel Publishing and the wisdom of its founder Lynda S. Burch. Thankfully, I still have 4RV Publishing.

Working on my latest NaNoWriMo project. Another book set in my fictional New England town of Cedarville. I am eight chapters in. We will see how much progress I make through the end of the year.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

It’s National Library Week!

Today is the kick off for National Library Week! This is our week to show local libraries our love and celebrate how libraries and their workers help to transform lives and strengthen our communities. Here are some special days this week:
Right to Read Day  – April 8
National Library Workers Day – April 9
National Library Outreach Day – April 10
Take Action for Libraries Day – April 11
How will you celebrate libraries this week? How often do you visit a library? What is your favorite thing about or program offered by your local library?
